.25 Cal Shrouded Condor

I started and finished this early 2007. I decided to get a .25 barrel blank from Lothar Walther in Georgia after going back and forth in my head for quite a while. In the end I knew I could sell my .22 for a bit more than a .25 blank would cost me, so the project would be pretty much free as I own a lathe.

Barrel after breech has been turned down in lathe to match up with the breech/tophat. I used the stock breech diameter as I wanted to keep this simple and use the original breech and tophat.

Completed barrel with aluminum bushings.

Once I tested it, I knew I'd need a shroud because it was way too loud. Here are the raw materials I made the shroud from.

End cap after machining.

Shroud fully assembled before painting. Mocked up in SS just to decide how long to make it.

After paint.

Condor, ready for sighting in.

Accuracy results.

I found the gun out preformed the stock .22 configuation. More powerful (86fpe compared to 65fpe in .22), More accurate, More shots.

I'd HIGHLY recommend going .25 if you own a Condor.

I made this for myself, then sold it to pay for the BSA Super 10. These can be purchased from Axiom Lemak along with Talon Tunes, Custom Brakz and Air Hog
